This looks fab. I have always been a great admirer of Teddy Roosevelt (i am a lifelong Democrat). i will follow your progress with interest and i agree with your ideals.
Thank you. I have been relying on Chris Hedges, Bob Sheer, Krugman, et al., to stave off despair in the face of all the phoniness, the hypocrisy, the corruption, the absolute criminality of our corporate plutocracy. This offers hope for an actual movement (intelligent movement, to differentiate from another recent movement!) to bring about real change. Please don’t give up…
Great reading choices, Patty! No need to despair, though Chris Hedges is pretty deep in despair country. One of our goals is to connect people and have a good time while doing our part for democracy. Look forward to connecting with you.
I am disappointed in what has been termed, “Bull Moose Movement”. You have no idea which ideals and progressive ideas Teddy Roosevelt embodied. He would have thundered against the modern (so called) Tea Party and called them “Luddites”. He would have championed the ideals of the Green Party in preserving our national wilderness. The Old Trust Buster would have railed against BP, Goldman-Sachs,etc. and tightened government regulation against these theves.
He was kicked out of the Republican Party because of his progressive ideas. The Tea Party is simply a fabrication by the likes of Carl Rove and his slimy band of cutthroats. If you were true “Bull Moosers”, you would recognize the sham that has become right wing politics and support real progressivism and really support this country in helping it pull itself up by its bootstraps (another TR cliche).
Dear David,
Right on. I have no idea why you think the Bull Moose Movement agrees with the Tea Party. I don’t think there’s anything on this site to suggest that.
keep well,
Janos
What is the difference between the “Bull Moose Movement” and the “Bull Moose Progressives”?
